  Have you ever wanted to torture the taste buds so bad that death is a better option? If so, the halls gap fish and chip shops the way to go! We arrived at 11:15, so according to the hours provided the shop should of been open. As we were standing at the door looking at the store, a friendly local walked in to the lolly shop and then came back out. He said that the owners were in the shop, out the back. This was a surprise as the store looked closed. Five minutes later, they decided to turn on the lights and put the sign out the front. We reluctantly purchased our food at an expensive price, only to find out that not only was the food expensive it was of low quality and minimal quantity. $6 worth of chips did not fill us up. It was not even the size of a minimum. If you do have to buy food here. We suggest throwing out the chips and eating the paper and the owner.

  Worst food shop I have ever been to. Ordered a Flake. The fish was burned and oily. The most disturbing part is, I returned the fish back to the store and she didn't see an issue with it. This is despite the fish being a very dark brown in colour and oil literally free flowing.

  If you want a misery server go here! The lady was miserable and grabbed her spoon as we asked the size of medium chips. Salt is obviously expensive as it lacked it! If you like a bite of fish then that is what you get! Disappointed! Customer service and quality needs to improve.

  Wow. Horrible. Everyone warned us but we did it anyway. We ordered 4 potato cakes, they gave us 3 bitter out of a packet potato cakes. We asked of $6 worth of chips and they gave us about 23 stale tasteless chips. (No joke, 23). We ordered 3 fish were ok but not great (at least we got 3). It’s hard to great fish and chips but it’s even harder to find some this bad. Do I have to give them 1 star???. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

  Even though we read all the terrible reviews we decided to try it anyway as there wasn't much options within the town. It definitely wasn't great. The lady at the counter was very happy and nice though. But unfortunately the food was terrible, I honestly don't know how you get chips wrong, but they were overcooked, dry and lacked flavour. The burger was just a burnt patty on a square roll ($8!) and the fish ($12) was overcooked and tasted like it had been frozen for a very long time. Better going next door to the supermarket and making yourself something! Hopefully they improve though as it is a lovely town (try the ice cream shop on the corner! Amazing!)
