    Without fail, every single table had a problem with their food.

    The service - we got asked for a drink at the start, and not again for the night, they ran out of a number of items on the fixed menu, when the restaurant was only half full, and they left a poor waiter on his first shift to deal with everything. A female waiter was there at the start, but hardly appeared again to assist him.

    I would suggest to anyone staying in Halls Gap to avoid this place at all costs. The food was very expensive, so we expected something good. What we got would be considered poor even by dodgy pub standards. Meager portions, limp and disgusting salad, unexceptional atmosphere. Stay away.

    Mains were garlic prawns, which had absolutely no garlic flavour, and a rare porterhouse steak, which came out well done, with a peppercorn sauce, that was also tasteless.

    I had a mediterranean frittata for entree - which was quite good, but literally finger width. It came on limp and stale lettuce, as did my wifes calamari.

    Started with not enough printed menus when we turned up (restaurant was only half full).

    Luckily we enjoyed each others company, as we had a chuckle about how bad the experience was, and the shame of it is that the building is perfect for a fine dining experience, if only it were in capable hands.

    Dessert was an individual serve chocolate pudding (clearly store bought) that was dry on top and burnt on the bottom, and an ice cream sundae, which was acceptable.

    It would be funny if it weren't true. This was the worst experience we have ever had in a restaurant. Let me tell you what went wrong;
